Kentucky Derby and Preakness

Kentucky Derby weekend was a great success! Unfortunately, Mugatu just missed getting in to the Derby. The horses he ran against in the Blue Grass Stakes showed up strong on Derby day though. Sierra Leone finishing second and Seize The Grey (whom Mugatu beat) winning the Pat Day Mile.  Trainer Jeff Engler plans on sending him to the second leg of the Triple Crown, The Preakness Stakes.

Here’s a link to one of the many articles about Mugatu:

We did get to run on Derby Day though. Ascendancy, trained by OJ Jauregui, ran an admirable race in the $750k Longines Distaff Turf Mile. She gave us a thrill as she turned for home in third but those Chad Brown monsters were too much for her.

If anyone is looking to run on one of these big racedays for a relatively small investment, now is the time to contact me. I’m wide open for the Fasig Tipton Midlantic 2 year old sale following the Preakness.
